Bruno Lage is the guy the Midlands club have picked to take them forward, with Spurs now battling with fellow Premier League rivals Everton and Crystal Palace in their managerial hunt.

Spurs fans are an already frustrated bunch because of how they performed this season and the feeling that the club is on a slippery slope without any signs of them stopping.

But the likes of Daniel Levy aren’t helping matters by taking their time in bringing in a new face – at this rate, even Palace and Everton will have brought in someone before them.

Unless the next coach to walk through the doors of the North London club excites and unites all Spurs supporters, then the anger and frustration will only grow.

It also needs to be remembered that the summer transfer window has also officially opened today and the Euros are only days away.

And all of that distraction and chaos can go against Spurs, unless they bring in a new face as quickly as possible.

But unless the new Spurs manager was worth the waste, those in the Spurs boardroom have no doubt made a mess of their current situation.
