Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Leonardo Bonucci.
Spurs are in dire need of defensive reinforcements for next season after conceding 45 goals in the Premier League last term – one less than 16th-placed Brighton & Hove Albion.
The North Londoners have a lot of options – Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Joe Rodon – but it’s clear that Jose Mourinho’s successor will need better.
And according to Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham are keen on Juventus veteran Bonucci.
The 34-year-old, who earns £98,000 per week, is contracted to the Turin club until 2024 but at his age and a changing of the guard at Juve as Andrea Pirlo departs for Massimiliano Allegri, it seems like he could be attainable.
In a word, absolutely.
Remember, this is a club that hasn’t won a trophy since 2008.
Say what you want about Bonucci’s age but the man has won eight Serie A titles and remains a big player for the Italian giants.
On the pitch and off it, Bonucci has a lot to offer Tottenham and if this materialises, it’ll undeniably be a brilliant signing.
