There seems to be twists and turns around every corner for Tottenham and Everton in their managerial hunt.

On Wednesday, it took a surprise turn, as the Telegraph reported that Everton are considering Rafa Benitez as their next boss, whilst Sky Italia claim that Spurs could appoint Paulo Fonseca by the middle of next week.

Well, with Benitez being linked with the Everton role, it seems as though some Spurs supporters would like the Spanish coach to head towards their direction instead.

For Tottenham, it has been 52 days since they sacked Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy has had plenty of time to bring in a new face.

So, it could be argued he is under more pressure to hire a new manager than those on Merseyside.

Everton had actually planned the summer, and for next season, with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, only for Real Madrid to come knocking.

And given they had little time to react, it’s understandable if they take that little longer to bring in a new face, but the same excuses cannot be made for Spurs.

Benitez’s last managerial stint in the Premier League was with Newcastle, where he was lauded by the supporters, and his status is even bigger at Anfield.

The latter perhaps will make it a pretty difficult pill to swallow for all on Merseyside if he does indeed rock up in Everton colours.

But, he is a safe pair of hands, with a strong track record of wherever he has been, including showcasing the ability to win trophies.

Nonetheless, this is what Spurs fans had to say about Benitez:
